Re: Does SKP need to be optimized for Gingerbread?

I'm regrettably going have to switch to Better Keyboard 8 to meet my typing needs. I appreciate the support and communication, Cyril, for trying to find out the reason why SKP doesn't run as smoothly and responsively on Android 2.3 Nexus S. Alas, it seems the problems can't be recreated by you, and ...

What device are you on? And what Android version are you using?

I'm on a Nexus S running Android 2.3 (2.3.2). This information might help.

Re: double letter

There is a double letter problem when using the keyboard on the internet. Anytime I try to enter information the first letter of that word doubles. I have to delete the word and them retype it's been going on for sometime. Also when typing on this page the keyboard is really slow and a serious dela...

Re: Gingerbread touch to correct

Strange. Then perhaps it could be with the Nexus S itself? That's really unfortunate if so.

I sent you a lengthy email, Cyril, going a little more in depth with what I've been experiencing with stock, Better Keyboard 8, and SKP in the past few weeks of testing. Hope that helps.

Re: Gingerbread touch to correct

My guess is you're referring to something like this: http://www.dexilog.com/smartkeyboard/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=670, or having the cursor touch the word to respell. If so, I agree, it would be a nice feature to add. Yes, that is what I am referring to. Thanks for the link. I've posted a res...

Re: double tap on the word for respelling or capital change

Yes, this feature is implemented in the stock Android keyboard, and it's one of the best new features. Even un-intentional auto corrections can benefit from this. For example, I have a friend whose name is "Rawle" but that often gets auto corrected to "crawled." By tapping (it's ...

Re: Gingerbread touch to correct

I guess not? I'm the only one that wants this? It's a great and handy feature to tap and correct words already typed =T

Gingerbread touch to correct

Cyril, on the Gingerbread stock keyboard, there's a way to touch a word that's already typed to correct it. For example, if I'm typing "how are yuo?" but misspelled 'you', I can touch the word, and suggestions will come up on that suggestions bar. This is what I think at least part of what...

Re: Auto-correct problems....

Also, custom auto-corrections is by far the most valuable feature SKP has over other keyboards. Put it to use and actively add to it. For example, if you find you are constantly typing help as hepl, make a custom auto correction for hepl = help. That way, anytime you type hepl, it'll always get chan...
