This would be an acceptable alternative to (and probably easier to implement than) the T9 keyboard I suggested in another thread in this section. I have never actually used this type of keyboard mentioned above.delriogil wrote:...the Blackberry style two-letter-per-button keyboard with the auto-corrections...

Re: add voice support
As far as the issue of voice support goes, I have it working great on my phone. I believe it is not an issue the Smart Keyboard app needs to address, however. From what I understand, Android version 2.1 has the voice support for the keyboard built in automatically. For me, if I press the Menu button...

Re: proximity prediction
For me, "grlli" brings up "hello" as a suggestion, but doesn't automatically highlight it. "Prpplr" did suggest (and highlight) "people" though.

Re: Lots of Text - Input Window Glitch
I can attest to Handcent being a common factor in some of the bugs. I have tried letting them know about the issues, but the developer doesn't seem too interested in responding to emails (or releasing updates).

Del key - delay needed.
Would it be possible to add a delay to the Del key so that it doesn't start deleting until you've held it down for a certain amount of time, or after you have release it? I have problems when I go to type a "?" by holding down the M, but while I am moving my finger around to get it on the ...

Re: Autocorrect not working on some words
I was having similar issues, but Cyril released an update to the built-in dictionary yesterday (two updates over the course of the day, in fact) and many, if not all, of these autocorrection problems disappeared.

Re: Message sending without pressing enter
This is just a stab in the dark, but could it be that you have the Smart Keyboard settings set so that if you "swipe down" on the keyboard, the keyboard closes? When you are typing fast, the hardware might get confused and accidentally register a "swipe down" instead of what you ...

T9 Word
For reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T9_%28predictive_text%29 I am not too savvy on how one would implement such a feature, but from those I've seen on the marketplace, there is much to be improved upon. I don't imagine it would be terribly difficult to create such a feature, considering the ...

Re: Multi-touch Input Refinement
I am using Motorola Droid, Android version 2.0.1. The stock keyboard seems to behave exactly the same in regards to the multi-touch capabilities. Based on my limited knowledge on the matter and from what you said about the key events coming from the Android framework, I would have to agree with you ...

Re: Lots of Text - Input Window Glitch
It appears to only happen in landscape mode. When it starts to happen in landscape, I turn it to portrait mode and everything I typed (and didn't show up) appears after it has switched to portrait view.
