I've set my gestures so that a swipe up toggles between full QWERTY and compact QWERTY in Portrait mode. If one of your gestures is set that way, perhaps an accidental swipe toggled it without you noticing?

I see what you are saying. Pressing the apostrophe or dash changes the word to whatever is on the left, even though that is not the default auto-corrected word.

1. Have you tried adding fog's to the User Dictionary?

2. Check the User Dictionary for the word gdjjm. It's possible you accidentally entered that jumble of letters as a word to the User Dictionary while typing fast or something. I've done that - especially if I have Learn New Words enabled.

This might be asking for too much but what making it so that the accelerometer is used for scrolling? i.e., tilting the device one way or another to scroll, with user settings for sensitivity of tilt angle & scrolling speed?

To be honest, yes, I think that would be a useful feature. Not to *replace* one word with the other in the dictionary but change which word is the default choice (that gets selected if you just accept autocorrect).
