Hey Cyril, I have recently needed to start doing some work in Somali. I was wondering if you would be able to generate a keyboard layout for me. I am also working on modifying my Esperanto word list program to automatically generate a word list based on frequency for Somali and I hope to be able to give that to you by the end of the weekend.
The Somali keyboard is not very different from that of the normal English QWERTY keyboard with the following exceptions:
p = sh
P = Sh
z = kh
Z = Kh
v = dh
V = Dh
Of course on caps-lock the 'h' would be capitalized as well like CAPS V = DH.
If there is no way to make double characters, you may want to remove p, z, and v as they do not appear in the Somali language and would just take up screen real estate.
I'm not sure how well the double characters will work in one key on the keyboard... I would prefer to have double characters if that is at all possible as this would make typing a lot faster. The normal special characters should work for now, I will let you know if I find an issue and need to have something changed.
