Re: smileys
I would love to see a custom smiley option. Especially so I can change it to ":)" and not ":-)"
Re: smileys
I like the idea of an editable smileys popup. If you haven't seen jonasl's mod of HTC_IME he's implemented this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416
I prefer the way Smart Keyboard presents the smileys in a large popup instead of a line, but I thought I'd link there if you haven't played with it yet.
Also, an idea for a further tweak: Instead of having the smiley button on the keyboard, can you have an option to just show it on the "?123" alternative keyboard? It would make inserting smileys one keystroke harder, but that's a plus for me as I seem to insert smileys accidentally more than I do intentionally. Yay or Nay from other users?

Re: smileys
Guys I will add two options:
- A global setting "on / off / auto" to display or not the smiley key, also accessible with a swipe gesture
- An editor to customize the smiley panel

Re: smileys
Ah, I'm still waiting on that update to change the default smiley to ":)". I want it sooo bad.
Re: smileys
I love this new smiley feature! I've been waiting for someone to implement something like this so I could add the smileys that I use most often. However, I am afraid to update to 2.1.1 because of the change log entry "Revert to default android smileys". Could someone explain what exactly this update does? Does it take away my custom smileys?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: smileys
I was a little scared as well, but it didn't take them away for me. Still don't know what it actually did...

Re: smileys
I only reverted to the default smileys for the people who didn't customize the key, but if you already cutomized it there is no change at all

Re: smileys
Ah wonderful. Thanks for clearing that up
