Sometimes, when I type a word that is in the dictionary, the keyboard suggests (and automatically inserts) another word.. This should never happen..
For example, in Norwegian, I type "det" and get "det". But if I type "der", I get "det" as the preferred word, even though "der" is a VERY common Norwegian word and has to be in the dictionary.
If I type "ballong", which is a very common word and in the dict, I get "balkong" as the suggestion.
Why does this happen?! Why chose another word when the word I typed is already in the dictionary? This happens with a lot of words..
I have the smart dict on and using version 2.1.1.
Typed words that are in the dict should always be preferred in my view.

Re: Getting "smart" hits that are other words from the dict
Hi
this is normal, to avoid that words added by mistake to the user dictionary are suggested too often. Once the word you expected to be suggested has been typed often enough (at least 3 times), it will be suggested by the smart dictionary

But these are not words from the user dictionary. They are all common Norwegian words from the main dictionary.
If I have to train the smart dictionary for lots of common Norwegian words, I won't be able to use it..
Words that are typed in and are "normal" words from the dict should have priority. I shouldn't have to learn the keyboard to accept my totally correctly spelled normal word.

This could be the same bug as 0000027 from the bugtracker.. Words from the main dicts should have priority..

Actually, yes, the fix for issue #27 will solve your problem. You just need to wait for the next update

Hi Cyrill,
I'm an avid user of Smart Keyboard Pro. Using it with EN - IT and NL.
With NL language I have exactly the same issue as jawil.
SKP is replacing correctly spelled common words by very uncommon word NL words. Hope this gets fixed in the next release.

Hello
Can you give precise examples? Have you checked if you don't have wrong words in your user dictionary?

I regularly check the user dictionary for errors, so there are no typo's there.
Re specific examples:
- type "hoe" = "how" and SKP suggests "goed" = "good"
- type "kan" = "can" and SKP suggests "Jan" = a name
- type "wij" = "we" and SKP suggests "Wijk" = a name or neighbourhood.
- type "we" = "we" and SKP suggests "www"
- type "elk" = "each" and SKP suggests "Ellis"
- type "gezin" = "family" and SKP suggests "gezien" = "seen"
It is clear that in many instance the Dutch keyboard favoured names in the directory over correctly spelled common words.
But it also prefers to replace correctly spelled common words by less common words.
N.B. This only happens in the Dutch language. Other languages are fine.
Hope you can help

Re: Getting "smart" hits that are other words from the dict
Hi Cyril, just wanted to let you know the problem seems to be resolved. I uninstalled the Dutch language pack. And reinstalled it shortly thereafter.
As far as I can see the problem no longer occurs.
If things change I'll report back here.
Thanks for trying to help.
