spell checker in email

I've got a Samsung phone with Gingerbread, and the stock e-mail app has an option to spell-check when composing an e-mail (Menu key > Spell check). If the ICS stock app lacks this, you might want to check the Play Store for an e-mail app that includes spell-check. IOW, I think it's an app issue, not a keyboard one.
